Reading the Home screen, the safety score, and the SOS button
Home is the first screen after sign-in. It combines your conversations, your safety score, the people in your network, and the SOS button itself.
- What is on the Home screen — Conversations, the safety score, your network, and the emergency trigger, in one place.
- What the safety score actually measures — It starts at 100 and subtracts points for each condition that would weaken an alert.
- What each score band means — The wording under the number tells you how much attention is needed.
- Using the SOS button safely — The button starts a countdown, not an instant alert, so an accidental press can be cancelled.
- Opening a contact’s safety information from Home — Each contact on Home is a doorway to their map, reports, timeline, monitor view and devices.
- Common problems and fixes — What to check when Home looks wrong.
Frequently asked questions
What does the SafX safety score mean?
It is a readiness check out of 100 that asks whether an alert raised right now would reach someone with useful information. Points are deducted for being offline, having no or few contacts, shake detection or live tracking being off, notifications being off, low battery, battery saver, and any outstanding permission. Tap the score to see every factor and jump to the fix.
How do I cancel an accidental SOS in SafX?
Tap Cancel during the countdown. The countdown is between 5 and 30 seconds depending on your setting under Settings -> Safety -> Emergency trigger. Once the countdown finishes the alert is sent, but you can still resolve it from the Alerts page.
