Connecting trusted contacts with connection keys, and managing them
Your network is the set of people who receive your emergency alerts and can see you when you allow it. Connections are made with short keys and always require both sides to agree.
- What your network is for — Connected people are your guardians: they receive your alerts, and you receive theirs.
- Adding a contact — Generate a key, share it, and accept the request that comes back.
- Managing the codes you have generated — Every key you have created is listed and can be reviewed.
- Incoming requests — Nobody joins your network without an explicit Accept.
- Removing someone from your network — Removing a connection stops alerts and visibility in both directions.
- Why contacts show as online, stale or offline — Presence is based on the last heartbeat SafX received from their phone.
- Plan limits on connections — The free plan is usable, but a paid plan removes the limits.
- Common problems and fixes — What usually goes wrong when connecting people.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add a trusted contact in SafX?
Open the Network tab, tap Generate Key, and send the key to the person. They tap Add Contact, enter the key, and send a request. You then accept it from Incoming Requests. Connections are mutual and always require an explicit Accept.
Can someone add me to SafX without my permission?
No. A connection needs a key that you generated and shared, and it still has to be accepted by you before it exists. Someone holding your key can only create a request.
